About Us

I have had a passion for landscape design and architecture since high school. I did small projects for friends and neighbors.  As time went on I was fortunate to work for a very skilled designer, he taught me about the business and how to design a yard to compliment the home.  I started my business in New Mexico and was very successful for 15 years. In 1998 I decided to move to the valley.  I designed for several landscape companies where I met Chilo Meza, who had over 20 years of experience. We partnered and started Gardens by Chilo & Susanna. We have been in business for 16 years now.

Artistic talent sets us apart from other landscapers.  My mother is an artist, and I inherited some of her talents. My artistic eye for designing contemporary to traditional projects that brings the inside of the home to the outdoor space.  

I love to visualize a yard and show a customer the possibilities. This includes grading, hardscape, water features, BBQ’s, fireplaces, outdoor rooms, lighting, irrigation systems and outdoor kitchens. Entertainment areas are what we do best!
